Dr. A. Paddy Smithwick, Pediatric Dentist

Dr. A Patrick Smithwick III, or Dr. Paddy as the patients call him, is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and reached attending status at Children’s Hospital of Colorado. After graduating from Hobart College, Dr. Paddy was trained at the University of Maryland College of Dental Surgery (fun fact: it was the first dental school in the nation) where he placed in the top five percent on the National Dental Board Exam.

He continued his specialty training in pediatric dentistry for an additional two years at New York University and the world-renowned Bellevue Hospital where he was trained in growth and development, orthodontics, hospital dentistry, sedation and general anesthesia. Dr. Paddy also trained at the RFK Center for the treatment of children with developmental disabilities and the Hassenfeld Center of Hematology and Oncology. While in New York, he was an integral part of the cranial facial/cleft lip and palate team at the NYU Medical Center. Phew! That was a lot of schooling!

Dr. Roger Castro, Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Roger Castro is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist who helps kiddos maintain healthy smiles in Denver and the surrounding area. He attended the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree. That’s where he made friends with his classmate Dr. Paddy! When he finished dental school, he headed to New York City and completed his residency in general dentistry at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center.

It wasn’t long before Dr. Castro realized how much he enjoyed working with kids, so he returned to Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center for a postdoctoral program in pediatric dentistry and even served as Chief Resident. Now, he treats children of all ages, including those with special needs. He absolutely loves his job and is dedicated to creating a fun, positive dental experience for kids and parents alike.

Dr. Meredith Ghivizzani, Pediatric Dentist

Board Certified Pediatric Dentist Dr. Meredith Ghivizzani moved to Denver with her husband to join the Kids Mile High Team! She had been practicing pediatric dentistry in Houston, Texas for several years, but was looking to be closer to family and the mountains.

Dr. Meredith is originally from Gainesville, Florida and attended the University of Florida for her undergraduate studies, Go Gators! She then earned a Master’s of Science from the University of South Florida and a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Temple University in Philadelphia. On top of that, Dr. Meredith is credentialed at Care Dental Surgical Center of Denver, as well as at Children’s Hospital Colorado, where she also teaches new pediatric dentistry residents as an adjunct family member.

Dr. Brandon Scheer, Orthodontist

Board Certified Orthodontist Dr. Brandon Scheer was born and raised in Kansas. He comes from a long family tradition of practicing dentistry, dating back to 1918! He decided to continue the family legacy and studied at the Indiana University School of Dentistry, where he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree.

Following dental school, Dr. Scheer completed his orthodontic residency at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. There, he earned a Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) and a Certificate in Orthodontics. Now, at Kids Mile High Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Scheer offers comprehensive orthodontic care to bring out the best in our growing patients’ smiles.
