Dr. Kemie D. Houston, Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Kemie Houston is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She received her Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS) in 1989 from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. She received her Master’s (MS) in Pediatric Dentistry in 1991 from Baylor College of Dentistry. She was a Fellow in Pediatric Dentistry at the Children’s Hospital of Dallas, Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas and the Denton State School for the Mentally Handicapped.

She has completed advanced training programs in general anesthesia, various sedation techniques, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), pediatric dental trauma, care for children with special health needs and much more. Dr. Houston studied and wrote her thesis on craniofacial morphologic characteristics of spinal muscular atrophy in children with an emphasis on growth and development.

Dr. Houston is a volunteer with Kids in Need of Dentistry (KIND) and serves on the board of advisors with Smile for a Lifetime. Through these organizations she is able to provide pro bono care to children in need. She is also a major contributor to the Healthy Smiles Foundation and is a member of the International Association of Dentists. She has been chosen by the readers of Colorado Parent Magazine as the Family Favorite Pediatric Dentist in Colorado for the last three years and was selected as a Top Dentist for 5280 Magazine in 2004, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Dr. Houston belongs to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), the American Dental Association (ADA), the Colorado Dental Association (CDA) and the Metro Denver Dental Society (MDDS). She is the past president of the Southwest Society of Pediatric Dentists as well as the MDDS, Arapahoe Chapter. She currently serves on the Ethics Committee for the Colorado Academy of Pediatric Dentists and is on staff with the Children’s Hospital and Sky Ridge Medical Center.

In her free time, Dr. Houston enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with her family. She has three children, Jamie, Julie and Tanner and is blessed with four grandchildren, Evan (4), Chloe (3), Reilyn (2) and Brooklyn, born October 2012. Dr. Houston and her family are members of the Cherry Hills Community Church.
