Children have special dental care needs. By visiting a pediatric dentist regularly from infancy to age 18, a child learns good dental care habits, avoids potentially serious problems, and enters adulthood with a healthy, attractive smile. A pediatric dental exam includes screening for cavities, gum infections and other abnormalities of the mouth and throat.
Anxiety...
Do not be overly concerned if your child exhibits some anxious behavior. Separation anxiety is normal and will soon diminish. Assistance from parents is welcome for children under three and for those who have special needs.
Our office provides the following options
for the anxious patients: nitrous oxide, mild anti-anxiety medication, or
oral conscious sedation. When necessary, general anesthesia is available
in an outpatient surgical center or hospital setting.
